Dhiraagu Empowers Vulnerable Youth with High-Speed Internet Access

In a resolute move towards amplifying educational opportunities and digital connectivity, Dhiraagu, the Maldives' leading telecommunications provider, has reaffirmed its pledge to provide high-speed internet services to Amaan Veshi (Alternative Care Homes) and Amaan Hiya (Temporary Shelters) across the nation. This strategic initiative falls within Dhiraagu's robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aimed at uplifting the lives of children under state care residing in these facilities.

Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiya, integral components of the Family and Children’s Service Centres (FCSCs) located across the atolls, serve as havens for children under state care and victims of domestic violence and abuse. Under the banner of its CSR initiative, Dhiraagu is poised to extend high-speed Fibre Broadband services to all Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiya centers operating under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services. These centers are situated in key areas such as B. Eydhafushi, Sh. Funadhoo, HA. Dhidhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, L. Fonadhoo, N. Manadhoo, Lh. Naifaru, Fuvahmulah City, Kulhudhuffushi City, and Addu City.

The onset of the new academic year marks a pivotal moment for Dhiraagu's initiative, aligning with their mission to foster digital literacy and cater to the educational requirements of children in state care. Beyond mere internet provision, Dhiraagu envisions transforming these centers into hubs of learning, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment.

Dhiraagu's dedication to supporting children under state care has remained steadfast over the years. Notable among their contributions are provisions such as internet connectivity, donation of computer systems, and the establishment of computer labs and libraries at Kuda Kudhinge Hiyaa in Villimale’.

With a resolute commitment to nurturing young minds and empowering vulnerable individuals, Dhiraagu's CSR program places a significant emphasis on supporting children and youth. Beyond the provision of high-speed internet, the company's involvement extends to year-round program-based support and collaborations with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) focused on youth development.

Dhiraagu's latest initiative isn't just about internet connectivity; it's a beacon of hope, fostering a generation of learners and digital citizens who will be well-equipped to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. This commitment underlines the company's profound belief in the transformative power of education and the positive influence it can have on shaping the lives of the next generation.
