Urbanco Joins Forces with Ministry of Tourism to Forge a Serene Oasis: Hulhumale’ to Welcome Dedicated Tourist Beach

Urbanco, the prominent development entity, has joined hands with the Ministry of Tourism to sculpt a tranquil haven for tourists on the sun-kissed shores of Hulhumale' Phase I. The strategic partnership seeks to create an exclusive tourist beach, elevating the leisure landscape of this vibrant island.

Amidst a formal ceremony held at the Ministry of Tourism, the alliance materialized through the signatures of Permanent Secretary Fathimath Nilfa, representing the Ministry, and Urbanco’s Managing Director, Ahmed Athif. This monumental step resonates with the visionary approach embraced by both entities.

Tourism Minister Abdulla Mausoom underlined the significance of this collaborative venture, emphasizing the indispensable role of an exclusive tourist beach in Hulhumale'. Echoing the sentiment of industry stakeholders, Mausoom articulated the necessity to foster a secure and serene environment, catering to both Maldivians and visitors.

Urbanco's Managing Director Athif shed light on the challenges Hulhumale' faces with its beach's increasing popularity among the Male' region populace. Notably, the absence of a dedicated tourist beach has led to concerns expressed by guesthouses and safari boats, compelling some to cancel bookings.

Delving into the project's progress, Athif revealed, "The designated location, nestled behind the water theme park and MTCC bus terminal in Hulhumale’ Phase 1, is meticulously crafted to harmonize the coexistence of tourists and local residents. Ensuring inclusivity, the beach will offer amenities catering to those with disabilities."
Urbanco envisions a holistic experience for beachgoers, with meticulously planned amenities. Benches, lifeguard stations, restrooms, and seating areas will grace the beachscape. In addition, the beach will feature kiosks, changing facilities, lockers, and rejuvenating shower spaces, creating an inviting tapestry of comfort.
