MMPRC & Industry Partners Marks Successful Conclusion of Focus Group Discussions

Government mandated body marketing the country as a holiday destination, Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has yesterday, announced the conclusion of focus group discussions with its industry partners. The discussions were held on 9th and 10th December 2020, with sessions distributed amongst participants over the course of these two days.

Industry forums and meetings are conducted by MMPRC here and there, for the purpose of gathering partners’ insights and expertise in order to enhance their marketing efforts. The main objectives of the discussions are to give a better understanding of ongoing marketing activities, current challenges experienced by the industry and to discuss the way forward. Consequently, this results in joint ventures to generate innovative and sustainable ideas.

On 9th and 10th December, 4 sessions were conducted with 17 industry partners at which objectives and strategies for the coming year were addressed. In addition to this, activities that were carried out during the span of this year was detailed out for the participants.

The sessions were held at MMPRC in which a presentation was given by MMPRC to the industry partners that was followed by a discussion to share collaborative ideas to gather feedback on upcoming events and fairs. It also stressed on 2021 strategies to give a better understanding on the main priorities to ensure that Maldives is on the top of the list of most preferred holiday destination and how the industry can promote all segments of tourism existing in Maldives.

The broader aim of these discussion was to continue the strategic marketing and promotional activities to showcase Maldives as the World’s Leading Destination and to incorporate the finding and takeaway from each session to future approach to reach targets by both the parties.

MMPRC hopes to continue working together with industry stakeholders, especially during this challenging period of time, in order to increase tourist arrivals, and take Maldives’ tourism to peak in the coming year.
