Team Bulhi Kendi Triumphs with Record-Breaking Win in Ooredoo Masrace – Kulhudhuffushi City Championship!

The Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Kulhudhuffushi City concluded on a high note, with Team Bulhi Kendi making history by securing an exceptional victory with a record-breaking score of 1214.25 points. The competition, which took place on August 11th, witnessed spirited participation from 21 teams, each displaying unwavering determination and skillful fishing tactics.

Team Bulhi Kendi's outstanding performance earned them the coveted championship title and a remarkable cash prize of MVR 25,000. The competition was marked by fierce rivalries, with Team Latti securing the runner-up position with an impressive total of 659.05 points. Not far behind, Team Kuribians secured the second runner-up position, amassing a total of 612.35 points, highlighting the fierce competition among the participating teams.

A highlight of the event was Hassan Ali from Team Bulhi Kendi's exceptional achievement in landing a massive Billfish, weighing an impressive 25.85 kilograms. This marked the first-ever Billfish catch in the history of Ooredoo Masrace. Team Bulhi Kendi managed to catch an impressive total of 3 Billfish, while the runner-up, Team Latti, secured 2 Billfish during the competition.

Acknowledging individual prowess, the title of Best Fisherman was awarded to Adam Hilmee from Team Latti, showcasing exceptional skills by landing a remarkable 16 catches. The Best Fisherwoman title was proudly claimed by Khadheeja Moosa from Team Dhamaa Nagaa, who reeled in an impressive total of 4 catches.

The Ooredoo Masrace excitement continues, with the competition set to unfold in other cities as well. Addu City is next in line, scheduled for August 18th, followed by Fuvahmulah City on August 25th. As part of Ooredoo Maldives' 18th Anniversary celebrations, Masrace 2023 has expanded its reach to encompass all four cities: Male' City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Addu City, and Fuvahmulah City. The competition commenced on August 4th in Male’ City, attracting participation from over 30 registered teams eager to showcase their fishing skills and sportsmanship.
