A groundbreaking collaboration is set to redefine the urban landscape of Hulhumale' as Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) teams up with India's Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) to bring forth a colossal housing project. This ambitious venture will unfold the construction of 4,000 housing units in Hulhumale', marking a significant stride in providing innovative living solutions for the Maldivian populace.
KPIL, renowned for its prowess in the fields of oil, gas, energy, and infrastructure in India, stands at the helm of this transformative project. The subsidiary of KPIL, JMC, is concurrently engaged in developing 2,000 housing flats in Hulhumale' Phase 2, which was previously commissioned by FDC.
The official signing of the agreement for the 4,000 housing unit development was a milestone event, with FDC's Managing Director, Salfiyya Anwar, and KPIL's Country Head to the Maldives, Sarwajeet Singh, putting pen to paper.
This housing endeavor will unfold in two strategic phases, each comprising 2,000 housing units. The meticulously crafted units will be a blend of contemporary design and practicality, with 1,400 three-bedroom apartments and 600 two-bedroom apartments in each phase.
FDC's resolute vision is supported by a substantial investment of USD 165 million (MVR 2.5 billion), and KPIL is entrusted with ensuring the fruition of the project within three years. Beyond this significant stride, FDC remains fervently engaged in transforming Hulhumale's skyline with 32 impressive 18-storey towers. This ongoing venture embraces the creation of 1,200 two-bedroom apartments and an additional 2,800 three-bedroom apartments in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
With 2023 looming close, FDC is committed to completing these towering achievements, showcasing an unwavering dedication to shaping modern living spaces for the community.
