An exciting voyage of connectivity is about to unfold in the southernmost realms of the Maldives as Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry embarks on a mission to link the four southern provinces. This month marks the commencement of a new era in travel, facilitating seamless movement between Addu City, Fuvahmulah, and Huvadhoo Atoll, eliminating geographical barriers and fostering harmonious connections.
MTCC CEO Adam Azim, in a visionary stride, declared the initiation of this transformative journey. The upcoming ferry service, expertly orchestrated by RTL, promises to bridge the distances between Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and Huvadhoo Atoll. Such a strategic linkage aims to empower the residents of these provinces with unhindered and effortless travel options.
"The ferries have now been received to start these trips," shared Azim, exemplifying the company's resolute commitment to this pioneering endeavor.
Expanding the horizons of connectivity, RTL is not only dedicated to interlinking the four southern provinces but is also geared to introduce ferry services for the islands of Addu. Rigorous training sessions are underway to equip ferry staff with the skills to deliver impeccable service.
A carefully designed network underlines the national ferry system, encompassing three distinct link types: commute link, non-commute link, and highway link. These dynamic links cater to varying travel needs, spanning daily commutes to long-haul journeys connecting transport hubs.
The comprehensive ferry service initiated in Haa Dhaalu Atoll on May 5, 2022, was set into motion in Haa Alif Atoll, Shaviyani Atoll, Lhaviyani Atoll, and Huvadhoo Atoll. In a pledge that resonates with unity, the Maldivian government, led by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, envisions connecting all the nation's islands before the year's end. As part of this grand scheme, the Maldivian provinces are thoughtfully categorized into six zones, strategically aligning ferry routes. A newfound sense of accessibility and shared experiences is set to flourish across the Maldives as the RTL ferry embarks on its mission to bridge gaps and unite provinces.
