On Monday, the Maldives and Egypt signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Field of Diplomatic Training between the two countries. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Second Round of Maldives-Egypt Bilateral Political Consultations and took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives in Male’.
The MoU was signed between the Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel signed the MoU on behalf of the Maldivian government. Whereas, the Assistant Minister for Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, His Excellency Ayman Kamel represented the Egyptian government during the signing.
Under this MoU signing, it will foster collaboration and exchange of expertise between the two Foreign institutes and promote the development of diplomatic skills and knowledge. The MoU signing indicates a significant step forward in strengthening and consolidating diplomatic capacity-building efforts between the Maldives and Egypt.
