Government Greenlights Joint Applications with Binveriya Recipients Under Binveriya Housing Scheme

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has revealed in a statement that applicants who are eligible for the scheme can now submit joint applications with Binveriya land plot recipients as well. Previously, eligible candidates who failed to make the cut were only allowed to join other similar applicants not recipients.

Eligible applicants can now send a joint request to both recipients and qualified applicants by visiting the designated section featured in the online ‘Gedhoruverin’ online portal. The deadline for sending joint applications is July 15, 2023. All applicants are required to approve the join request in order to successfully complete the application.

There are currently 19,858 eligible applicants under the Binveriya Housing Scheme. The preliminary list accounted for only 10,314 recipients; however, the government has reassured the public that all qualified applicants will receive land plots in the first round of the Binveriya scheme. Currently, the ministry is accepting complaints about the preliminary list and evaluating the complaints till 15 July 2023.

The Binveriya Scheme is dedicated to residents of the capital, Male’. After reviewing the preliminary list of beneficiaries, the government has said that it will start issuing land plots for the recipients from August onwards. Land plots are scheduled to be granted from reclaimed areas of Hulhumale’. Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru Lagoon. The administration has stated that it intends to continue issuing land until all eligible applicants receive plots.
