With the support extended by the BML Community Fund, an outdoor reading park has been opened at Sh. Milandhoo School. The outdoor reading park was established as part of the initiatives for the school’s diamond jubilee, commemorating 75 years of learning and education. The reading park will aim to instill in students a love for reading.
The park was developed with support from the fund by an island-based Non-Governmental Organization called Milandhoo Sports Club. Speaking on the project, the winner of the proposal and the Vice President of Milandhoo Sports Club, Ahmed Sameeh said, “We hope that with this initiative, the students get the opportunity and space to experience and understand the importance of reading, We would like to thank BML and the Women’s Empowerment Organization in Milandhoo for supporting this initiative”.
Bank of Maldives has recently announced the first 10 winning proposals for the first phase of the BML Community Fund for 2023. The Community Fund is a program incepted by the bank to empower NGOs to contribute to their communities via sustainable development projects. Since it was founded, the fund has already provided financial assistance to 90 projects in various parts of the country.
