Dhiraagu has marked the outstanding achievements delivered by Team Maldives at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. During a special ceremony held yesterday at the Dhiraagu Head Office, the company welcomed the delegation and the athletes’ parents to celebrate their accomplishments.
At this year’s Special Olympics World Games, six athletes from the Maldives competed in two sports: athletics and badminton; and won two gold medals and one bronze medal. This includes:
-Gold Medal in Badminton (Division 1) by Aishath Maniya Adam
-Gold Medal in 100m Sprint (Level B – Division F07) by Aishath Laika Hussain
-Bronze Medal in 200m Sprint (Level C – Division F03) by Zaana Ali Shareef
During the ceremony, Dhiraagu presented prizes to all six athletes who participated in the World Games 2023. Additionally, free Dhiraagu Fibre 100 connection for 1 year was awarded to medal winners while the rest of the team received sports gift vouchers. Dhiraagu remains committed to supporting initiatives and providing program-based assistance to empowering youth and inclusive communities.
Speaking at the function, Dhiraagu Chief Commercial Officer, Ali Riyaz extended his congratulations to the athletes for their exceptional achievements at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. He added, “We are extremely proud of the team and for your efforts in bringing this great accomplishment to the nation, and we look forward to seeing you continue to grow and achieve great things in the future as well”.
