Three Schools to Launch for the New Academic Year

Ministry of Education has stated that three new schools will be launched in time for the new academic year. This includes the new Dharumavantha School building, the newly developed Salahuddin School in Hulhumale Phase II, and the new Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) building located in Hulhumale Phase I.

The construction of the new building of Dharumavantha School is almost complete and teaching will begin with the new academic year. SJ Construction was contracted with the new building at a project value of USD 4.8 million and will comprise 41 classrooms and other educational facilities such as a library and recreational spaces. Once opened, the school will operate on a single-session basis aligning with the ministry’s policy.

The new CHSE building is established on 2406 acres of land in Hulhumale Phase 1 while the Salahuddin School in Hulhumale Phase 2 will feature six storeys with a total capacity of 1000-1200 students. The Salahuddin School is the first secondary school built in the newly urbanized area while CHSE is the first government high school to be relocated to Hulhumale.
