Registration for Ooredoo Masrace 2023 Extends Till 8th July!
Ooredoo Maldives has reopened registration for Ooredoo Masrace 2023, extending the deadline till 8th July 2023. With this generous extension, fishing enthusiasts who missed the first deadline can now register their teams for the biggest nationwide fishing competition held in the Maldives up to date. This year’s Masrace returns with bigger hype and excitement, on the occasion of Ooredoo Maldives’ 18th anniversary. The competition will be hosted in all four cities across the country including Male’ City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Fuvahmulah City and Addu City throughout the month of August. The Masrace is expected to unleash competitive spirits and celebrate the rich fishing culture of the Maldives by showcasing traditional fishing practices.
An enticing prize pool of MVR 160,000 is allocated for winners from each city of the Ooredoo Masrace 2023. The grand winner will take home MVR 25,000 in cash, while 2nd and 3rd place winners will win MVR 10,000 and MVR 5000 respectively. Apart from these selections, the best fishermen and best fisherwomen of the race will each be awarded MVR 1000 as well.
A maximum of 30 teams are allowed to compete from each city with a minimum participation of 13 teams. If the registered teams exceeded the limit, a draw will be conducted to select the participating teams and those who are not selected will receive a refund. Once the registration form is submitted, teams will be asked to purchase the Masrace Kits for MVR 150 per kit. Each team will have to consist of 12 members, including a captain and officials.
The competition is set to be held in different cities on the following dates:
Male’ City: 4th August 2023
Kulhudhuffushi City: 11th August 2023
Addu City: 18th August 2023
Fuvahmulah City: 25th August 2023
