Maldives Immigration announced a new upgrade and will now be accepting passport applications submitted by individuals from mobile phones. The decision to greenlight applications made this way will allow the Immigration authority to reduce their reliance on conventional paperwork and streamline the application process for users through the IMUGA portal.
By adopting this new feature, individuals will no longer have to print and scan passport application forms, fast-tracking the process while providing ease. Along with this convenience, Maldives Immigration is preparing to introduce additional enhancements to the IMUGA Portal in the coming days, making the platform seamless for all availing of its services online.
The IMUGA Portal was launched in 2020 with the purpose of connecting all immigration services online under one solution. In addition to passport services, the IMUGA portal also provides a wide-ranging suite of other services including visas, travel declarations, Maldives Border Miles and etc.
