Last week, the administration revealed the preliminary list of land plot recipients under the ‘Binveriya’ Housing Scheme. The list was published in the Government Gazette last Monday complete with shortlisted names for the scheme, finalized after evaluation. Out of the 19,858 applications received for the scheme, 12,794 were eligible for land plots.
A press conference was held on the same day to brief the media about the progress of the Binveriya scheme, led by Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam. During the press conference, ‘The Gedhoruveringe Committee’ shared information on how the evaluation and finalizing process was conducted to select individuals eligible for land plots under the scheme.
Speaking about the eligible applications, Minister Aslam stated that those who applied separately from qualified candidates would also be allowed to submit joint applications, following a decision made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The list unveiled last Monday included 10,314 recipients, including individuals who applied separately and jointly as well.
The public is open to turn in complaints and inquiries about the list from Monday, 26th June 2023 to 15th July 2023 through the ‘Gedhoruveringe Portal’. As the largest housing initiative hosted in the country, the scheme aligns with the administration’s commitment to providing affordable housing and securing a life of dignity for all citizens.
