Maldives and The Gambia Sign Visa Waiver Agreement

The Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of The Gambia has signed the Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa requirements. The successful conclusion of the agreements will grant nationals of both countries exemption of visas for single or multiple entry, exit and transit for a maximum period of 30 days.

At a signing ceremony held at the Embassy of the Maldives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia the visa waiver agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Maldives by His Excellency Mohamed Khaleel, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Gambian government was represented during the signing by the Ambassador of The Gambia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Excellency Mr. Omar Gibril Sallah.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Mohamed Khaleel and Ambassador Omar Gibril Sallah engaged in bilateral discussions. The Maldivian Ambassador expressed his gratitude to The Gambian government for its commitment to enhancing friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries. He also conveyed hope that the visa waiver agreement will increase avenues for further engagement in the future and increase people-to-people contact.

Likewise, The Gambian Ambassador affirmed the commitment of The Gambian government to work closely with the Maldives on areas of mutual interest to further strengthen the existing bilateral relationships between the two sides.
