On Sunday, the Bank of Maldives (BML) opened applications for this year’s Graduate Internship Program which will provide yearlong training for graduates and students from local higher education institutions. The programs will enable students to gain hands-on experience within the banking industry and facilitate a pathway to permanent employment within the bank and other financial institutions in the Maldives.
During the internship program, interns will be rotated across several business units, departments and branches to maximize their experience and hone and develop their skills. Moreover, interns will also receive an allowance of MVR 6,000 per month during the internship duration and will be entitled to enjoy benefits such as Ramadan bonus and paid leave as well.
Speaking about the Graduate Internship Program, BML’s People and Change Director, Sahar Waheed remarked: “Unique to the Bank, this program offers young individuals the opportunity to develop the foundational skills required for a career in the finance industry. Since its launch in 2018, more than 42 interns have successfully completed the program with 70% gaining permanent positions at the Bank.”
