On Thursday, Ooredoo Maldives unveiled its compelling offers featuring generous perks for customers to stay connected with their loved ones travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year. Ooredoo launched the Hajj SIM – a unique SIM card for travellers with massive discounts of up to 90% on roaming rates and a Saudi IDD Pack to call loved ones at a special rate.
Ooredoo Maldives Head of Brand and Marcomms, Noora Ibrahim Zahir remarked, “We are delighted to enable our customers travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform the holy pilgrimage this year to conveniently stay connected to their loved ones during their trip. With up to 90% discount on roaming rates, it definitely gives our customers greater value for money and avoids getting large bills at the end of their journey. Hajj SIM
Customers can delight in the lowest roaming rates for voice, Data and SMS during their auspicious pilgrimage. Stay in touch with family and friends and share moments from trips conveniently while keeping numbers active. The Hajj SIM is only available for Postpaid customers and all existing and new Postpaid customers can upgrade their current SIM card to a Hajj SIM from any of the greater Male’ Ooredoo Experience Centers (OECs).
Customers can also simply activate roaming service through Ooredoo’s self-care portal or by visiting an Ooredoo Experience Center. To self-activate Data Roaming Service just dial *929*6#. Once in Saudi Arabia, the SIM card will then be automatically activated when the customer starts using the roaming service. However, to enjoy a seamless connection service, all SIM card users must change their SIM Application settings to ‘Automatic’ prior to their travels.
Saudi IDD Pack
The Saudi IDD Pack offers 100 Saudi IDD minutes and 1GB social data for Viber, Whatsapp and IMO for only MVR 150. Both prepaid and postpaid customers can delight in this offer throughout the Hajj season to stay connected with their loved ones performing Hajj. To activate this pack, customers can easily send an SMS to 1111 with the keyword ‘SD150’ or choose to self-activate via the Ooredoo App.
Roaming customers who missed the chance to change their SIM card to a Hajj SIM can still make use of the Standard Roaming rates. After activating the Hajj SIM, customers who wish to switch to a Prepaid plan or a Bill Control Postpaid can replace the special SIM with a normal SIM card.
