The Vice President Attends the Inauguration Ceremony of the President of Türkiye

On Saturday, the Vice President of the Maldives, His Excellency Faisal Naseem attended the inauguration ceremony of the President of Türkiye, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Vice President participated in the function held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara as the Special Envoy of His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently secured his third term in office after a competitive re-election held on May 28^th, 2023. Many heads of state and Government bodies attended the inauguration ceremony. Following the ceremony, Vice President Faisal Naseem also participated in an official dinner hosted by the Turkish President held in honour of the visiting delegates.

The Maldives and Türkiye initially established formal diplomatic ties on May 28, 1979.
