On Tuesday, Vice President Faisal Naseem launched the GEMS Workspace – the latest version of the Government E-letter Management System (GEMS). The software was introduced at a special ceremony held at the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT).
During his speech, Vice President Faisal Naseem emphasized the revolutionary impact of the updated GEMS Workspace on improving the government’s service delivery efficiency. In this regard, he extended his gratitude to all individuals involved in the project, noting the significant improvements achieved via the administration’s Strategic Action Plan (SAP).
Speaking further, the Vice President underscored the need to address an age-old concern raised by the public relating to the unresponsiveness and delays in being able to access government services. In this way, he stated that the launching of the GEMS Workspace across all government offices and institutions is expected to substantially increase convenience and efficiency in seeking government services.
The new GEMS Workspace software is designed as a standalone option that does not require any additional support software. It incorporates message templates and electronic signatures and eliminates the need for printing. Once the software is successfully implemented, businesses, non-governmental organisations, and individuals alike will be able to engage in correspondence with the government easily, streamlining the exchange of information.
