MTCC Provides Updates On The Progress Of Adh. Dhigurah Harbour Development Project

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) have shared the latest updates on the progress of the harbour development project taking place on Adh. Dhigurah. As of now, the first shipment of precast concrete blocks has been delivered to the project site. The concrete blocks will be required for the quay wall construction of the harbour.

The scope of the Adh. Dhigurah Harbour Development project extends to many pertinent areas. Some of the works featured in the project include dredging operations of a 64,416 cbm area, channel dredging operations of a 6,779 cbm area and the construction of a 294m quay wall. The project was contracted to MTCC at a value of  MVR 50.02 million.

In addition to this, the harbour development project will also include the construction of a 287m breakwater, a 98m revetment and the installation of 2,324sqm of habour pavement and harbour lights. A ramp, jetty and apron will be established as part of the project as well. Once completed, the modernized harbour is expected to bring great improvements to the transportation facilities on the island.
