During a special ceremony held at the Ministry of Health yesterday, the contract agreement was signed with Duplex Private Limited to develop hospitals in Hdh. Hanimaadhoo, Adh. Maamigili, V. Felidhoo and Th. Vilufushi. Similarly, Anand Buildtech Private Limited was awarded the contract for the development of hospitals in N. Velidhoo, K. Thulusdhoo and Sh. Milandhoo. Each hospital built under this project will comprise a 30-bed capacity.

The hospitals will be designed to support uninterrupted operations during epidemics with spaces allocated for flu clinics and isolation facilities. Moreover, to reduce the energy costs incurred in hospital operations, all hospitals will feature a 150 KW Solar PV system as well. In addition to this, the hospital beds will be supplied with piped oxygen, medical air and suction with oxygen plants set up to provide supply to neighbouring islands. The entire project is expected to be completely finished in 540 days.
