Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid Undertakes An Official Visit To Serbia

On Monday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid arrives in Belgrade, Serbia for an official visit. During the visit from 8-10^th May 2023, Minister Shahid is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.

In addition to this, Minister Shahid will be representing the Maldives during the signing of five key agreements between the Maldives and Serbia. The five agreements due to be signed are:

1. Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the Abolition of Visas for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports

2. Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation

3. Air Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia

4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives on Cooperation in the field of Diplomatic Education

5. Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Sports between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment of the Republic of Maldives and the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Serbia

This is the second time Minister Shahid has undertaken an official visit to Serbia which signifies the enhanced bilateral exchange between the Maldives and Serbia in recent times.
