Last Friday, Ooredoo Maldives concluded the Kulhudhuffushi Edition of the Ooredoo Fun Run, which saw over 3000 participants come together from all across the Haa Dhaalu atoll. With such a large number of runners in attendance, the happiest run in the Maldives made history by becoming the biggest run ever held outside the Male’ City area.
The run was kicked off on 5th May with a selfie taken by the Ooredoo Maldives CEO & MD, Khalid Al-Hamadi along with the enthusiastic runners in the background. He was accompanied on the run by Hon. Mohamed Raee, MP for Makunudhoo, Kulhudhuffushi City Mayor Mohamed Athif, Hanimadhoo Council President Abdul Sattar, Nolhivaranfaru Council President Abdulla Nadheem, Makunudhoo Council President Auzam Adam, Hirimaradhoo Council President Mohamed Waheed, Nellaidhoo Council President Mohamed Aleef and Ooredoo Maldives management team.
Ooredoo Fun Run is a commemoration of a healthy and active lifestyle, and the event was a tremendous success in relaying this message. Every milestone kilometre that runners crossed was celebrated with a unique fun station featuring colours, inflatable obstacles and a foam party, making this run equally thrilling as it was engaging. This also enabled runners of all ages and levels to experience the fun, tagging the event as ‘the happiest run in the Maldives’.
Speaking about the event, Kulhudhuffushi City Council Mayor, Mohamed Athif remarked "It was an absolute pleasure to have Ooredoo Fun Run held in our beautiful city of Kulhudhuffushi. The event brought together people from across the atoll, promoting healthy lifestyles and community spirit. It is a moment of pride for us, as the entire event from event management and coordination to entertainment was led by the talented members of our “Bodu Thiladhunmathi” community. Ooredoo Maldives is preparing to take up its next edition of the Ooredoo Fun Run in Hulhumale’, later this year. The company has also plans to expand the run to more regions in the Maldives in the future, ensuring everyone can be part of this fun and exciting event.
