MMPRC & Air Astana Partners Up to Market Maldives at Kazakhstan Through a Webinar

The flag carrier of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, resumed operations of direct flights between Almaty and Maldives on 5th December. Coinciding with this, government mandated body marketing Maldives as a tourist destination, Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), conducted a webinar in collaboration with the airline.

According to MMPRC, the webinar was joined by over 150 travel agents from Kazakhstan. During the webinar, latest information about Maldives and the arrival and departure procedures in the new normal were discussed. Air Astana also used this opportunity to showcase the various inflight services available through the airline for travelers.

The webinar is conducted as part of the marketing campaigns being carried out in the Russia & CIS region. Traditionally, this market in a strong one to the Maldives and also has been the top tourist market to the country since the border reopening on 15th July.

Air Astana operates two flights per week to Velana International Airport, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They will be utilizing a new addition to its fleet, for the operations. However, due to high demand during the winter holidays, between 16th of December to 16th of January, the airline will be using a wide-bodied Boeing 767 aircraft, providing additional seat capacity.
