MTCC Finishes Hanimaadhoo Road Development Project

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) have announced the completion of the Hanimaadhoo road development project in Haa Alifu Atoll, Maldives. As part of this project, MTCC developed 20 roads across Hanimaadhoo island, upgrading them to suit the contemporary needs of the residents of the island. The project was valued at MVR 28.9 million.

The scope of the project included carrying out asphalt-laying works on all roads, installing stormwater drainage systems, and the installation of cable junction boxes, service lines and road signage. The Hanimaadhoo road development project has long since been in the implementation stage, with initial works dating back to 2013. Since then, the project has been handled by various contractors before MTCC took on the road development in 2019 and fast-tracked the progress once more.

As an important infrastructure development partner in the Maldives, MTCC has also undertaken and completed the Hanimaadhoo harbour development project. With a state-of-the-art harbour and modernized roads established on the island, the ongoing Hanimaadhoo International Airport project is set to transform the North of the Maldives into an economic hub, bringing numerous opportunities and prosperity to the Northern atolls.
