Presidential Envoy & Advisor To The President of Sri Lanka Pays A Courtesy Call On Foreign Minister

On Wednesday, the Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka, Honourable Niranjan Deva Aditya paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the morning hours of 5^th April 2023.

At the meeting, Minister Shahid warmly welcomed the Presidential Envoy to the Maldives and reviewed the long history of bilateral relations and strong people-to-people ties existing between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. The Foreign Minister also emphasized that both countries have played a significant role in the development of the other in the past. In this regard, he noted that the Maldives will continue to support Sri Lanka in its efforts for economic revitalization.

Before concluding the meeting, Minister Shahid and the Presidential Envoy reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely together in both bilateral and multilateral spheres, on issues of shared importance. The Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka is currently on an official visit to the Maldives from 4-8^th April 2023.
