Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has successfully completed the 13th batch of the Leading Firefighter Course. The training program which spanned five weeks aimed to create skilled and qualified fire vehicle operators for the Airport Emergency Services Operation. The course was designed in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
The course met the requirements of the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) as well and was facilitated by MCAA-certified instructors. The course was completed by 19 firemen, 17 of them from the MACL Airport Fire & Rescue Services while 2 were from Kaadedhdhoo Airport. The course encompassed both theoretical and practical sessions on how to operate fire vehicles competently for operations and informed participants on the role of a fireman.
