Fenaka Corporation Contracted To Build An Ice Plant In L. Maabaidhoo

On Sunday, Fenaka Corporation Limited signed a contract agreement to build a 25-tonne ice plant on Maabaidhoo island in Laamu Atoll. The agreement was signed between the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited, Ahmed Saeed and the President of Maabaidhoo Island Council, Ibrahim Wisam.

Under this agreement, Fenaka Corporation must complete the project within six months from the date of signing. The project value is estimated to be MVR 4.8 million. The ice plant to be established will have a production capacity of 25 tonnes while having a storage capacity of 50 metric tonnes. Fenaka Corporation is contracted with the development and operation of the ice plant for a period of 10 years.

Fenaka Corporation has been actively building ice plants across the country as part of the administration’s efforts to provide easy access to ice storage. Last January, Fenaka Corporation also signed to establish 25-tonne ice plants in Fiyoree and Madaveli islands in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll, with each project scheduled to be completed in 170 days. So far, ice plants have been built in 10 locations in the Maldives with plans to increase numbers in the upcoming future.
