MACL Conducts Cancer-Screening Event For Employees

Maldives Airports Company Limited has carried out a Cancer-Screening event for its employees in association with the Society for Health Education (SHE) and Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM).  As part of the event, oral and breast cancer screening and awareness sessions were provided to staff at the Airport Recreation Center.

The screening event was organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Management Section of the Safety, Security and Compliance Department of MACL in an effort to promote the health and well-being of its staff. This also aligns with the annual health and safety campaign of the department as well.  The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of MACL, Mahjoob Shujau attended the screening, encouraging all staff to partake in the program.

According to the findings of the World Health Organization (WHO), Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world. Regardless of this, early detection can save lives by increasing the chances of successful treatment and recovery. Therefore, its important to undertake preventive regular cancer screenings and proactive measures to safeguard people’s health.

SHE is an organization in the Maldives that seeks to address health and social concerns in the country. CSM is a community-based organization that aims to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer in Maldivian society. Both these organizations contribute heavily to the welfare of the people in the Maldives and have supported MACL to conduct and organize this event.
