B. Kamadhoo Harbour Development Underway At Project Site

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted with the harbour development project of Kamadhoo island in Baa atoll. As of now, the project is smoothly underway at the project site with precast concrete blocks installed for quay wall construction. Moreover, the new harbour basin dredging operations are also ongoing at the site currently.

The scope of the B. Kamadhoo harbour development project addresses several necessary alterations and new changes that are being brought to the current one. The project works featured under this project include basin dredging operations of a 30,933 cbm area and channel dredging operations of a 5,085 cbm area. Additionally, a 181 m breakwater and a quay wall spanning 392 m will be established at the site along with a 656 revetment.

To further elevate the surrounding harbour environment, the harbour pavement will be laid down measuring up to 1670 sqm in area. Likewise, a ramp, navigational lights and harbour lights will also form part of the project works on B. Kamadhoo. Once the project is completed, it will bring many benefits for the residents in their transportation and other needs.
