Ooredoo Maldives To Establish A Disaster Recovery Site & PEACE Cable Landing Station

On Tuesday, Ooredoo Maldives announced that it is investing to build the required infrastructure to further expand and improve the quality of the world-class Ooredoo network. Pursuing these efforts, the company has approved the development of a Disaster Recovery Site and Cable Landing Station for the PEACE Cable.

The Disaster Recovery Site and Cable Landing Station are planned to be constructed in Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaalu atoll in the North of the Maldives. Through this intriguing investment, Ooredoo Maldives aims to resolve issues relating to Geo redundancy of essential network services and reduce latency. Moreover, it will bring great improvements to the service quality and overall customer experience as well.

The main trunks of the cable land in Singapore, Pakistan, Kenya, Egypt, France and South Africa and will use 200G technology and WSS technology to transmit up to 192 Tpbs.
