500 Land Plots To Be Given Out In Addu City

The Addu City Council has opened applications for 500 land plots on three respective islands of the atoll. The designated islands selected for land plots are Hulhudhoo, Meedhoo and Feydhoo. 100 plots of 2000 sq. ft are allocated from both islands, Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo whereas 300 plots of 1500 sq. ft are assigned from Feydhoo island. Discussions to facilitate land plots of Hithadhoo are ongoing at the moment.

90% of the land plots are designed for residents of that island while 10% is designated for residents of other islands. For this category, 10 land plots are chosen in Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo while 30 plots are given in Feydhoo. The statement also outlined the criteria of applications and strictly limited applications to residents of Addu atoll.

Application forms will be accepted from 2nd February onwards till 16th February 2022 on all business days between 9 am to 1 pm. The land plots are allocated in line with the “Bandaara Goathi Dhookura Usool” guidelines. The granting of land plots in Addu City will hopefully ease the housing crisis in the atoll. It has been 15 years since land plots have been previously given out in Addu.
