How to Secure Your Lounge Spaces at the New Seaplane Terminal in Velana International Airport

Presently, work is underway on building a four story modern seaplane terminal at the main international airport in Maldives, Velana International Airport (VIA). It is part of the airport’s expansion project which comes with new facilities such as VIP lounges, lobbies, baggage handling facilities, retail shops and food and beverage services. The new terminal will be brought to operation during the first quarter of the next year.

Operator of the airport, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), has announced that the lounge spaces are presently up for lease via a Tender Notice. The opportunity is construed to registered seaplane operators, tour operators and resorts. Interested parties are required to register in the bidding through an expression of interest via post, fax or email on or before 1pm of 10th December 2020.

Upon the end of registration period, the Tender Document will be shared with all registered parties via email. All bids must be formulated in compliance with the details and requirements stated in the Tender Document.

The deadline for bid submission is set to 30th December 2020. All bid submitting parties are required to furnish a bid security of USD 10,000 (or its equivalent in MVR). Be mindful about the deadline, as late bids will be rejected.

Bid winners must set up and operate executive lounges on their own, but. in accordance with the guidelines and instructions given by MACL.
