Bank Of Maldives Awards Sports Scholarships To Recipients

On Sunday, the Bank of Maldives (BML) awarded the BML Sports Scholarship to its recipients at a special ceremony held to mark the occasion. The scholarships form part of the series of 12 high-impact community initiatives carried out by the bank to commemorate its 40th anniversary.

Under this fully-funded scholarship scheme, the bank will be supporting top-level national athletes to achieve their sporting potential by attending targeted programs. Thus, paving the way for athletes to train and develop their skills at world-renowned, high-performance training centres in different parts of the world.

The awarding ceremony took place at the Male’ Table Tennis Hall and was attended by several dignitaries from the bank and the sporting scene. This included CEO & MD of BML, Karl Stumke, President of the Maldives Olympic Committee, Mohamed Abdul Sattar and representatives from the Olympic Committee and various National Associations.

The scholarship opportunity was open to all registered national sports associations and the selection process was presided over by the Maldives Olympic Committee.
