BML X MTCC Enables RTL Bus Payments To Be Made Via Mastercard & Visa Cards

Bank of Maldives (BML) has completed the integration of Visa and Mastercard payments for Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus services operated by Maldives Transport & Contracting Company (MTCC). With this, commuters can conveniently carry out bus payments using their debit and credit cards with no additional cards or tickets required. The contactless Mastercard and Visa card transactions have been enabled in RTL Male’ city bus networks so far, for fare payments on the ticket validators. Although the service was introduced, customers using the RTL bus service can still purchase tickets on the RTL Mobile App.

Speaking on this exciting change, the CEO of BML, Karl Stumke remarked “Our more than 300,000 customers can now use their BML debit or credit cards to make tap-and-go payments easily and securely on the RTL network. We will also continue to collaborate with our partners to introduce additional payment methods. Our aim is to invest in providing innovative solutions that provide a seamless experience for everyone.”

Sandun Hapugoda, Country Manager, Sri Lanka & Maldives, Mastercard commented “Mastercard is delighted to partner with MTCC and honoured to contribute towards the vision of MTCC to deliver world-class solutions to the people of Maldives.
