STELCO Begins Providing Water Services To Vessels In Gulhi Island

On Sunday, State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) commenced the provision of water services to sea vessels on the island of Gulhi in Kaafu Atoll. The state-owned utility company stated that registered vessels with Gulhi island can now gain access to a comprehensive range of contemporary facilities on the island due to the service expansion. To celebrate the inauguration of service, STELCO is also giving out a free 1 tonne of water to each registered sea vessel in K.Gulhi.

The provision of water will be facilitated to vessels under three categories, namely: Band A, Band B and Band C. Those opting for Band A services will be charged USD 0.65 whereas Band B services will apply a charge of USD 0.78. Lastly, Band C will be charging UAD 0.84 for its services. Other vessels registered at different islands can also request for water supply services according to STELCO.

STELCO has been extending its water supply services to many vessels across the country. So far, two facilities have been set up on Mahibadhoo island in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll and one in Kaafu Atoll located on Gaafaru island.
