RDC Signs Agreement To Develop Roads in L.Gan

Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been contracted with the road development project in Gan island in Laamu Atoll. The contract agreement was signed last Thursday at a special ceremony held to mark the signing. The agreement was signed on behalf of RDC by Managing Director, Moosa Ali Manik. The Director General of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure represented the ministry at the signing event.

The signing ceremony was also graced by the Parliamentarian Member for the administrative region, Mohamed Wisam. As part of this project, RDC will be undertaking a large-scale initiative worth USD 6.8 million. The corporation will be paving asphalt on a 4.5km road and will be installing stormwater drainage systems and streetlights. The project is scheduled to be completed in one year and six months.

Incepted in June 2019, RDC is a 100% state-owned corporation founded with the aim of promoting the construction of rigid and flexible development of roads. They strive to deliver efficient, safe and ecological infrastructure advancements to islands to make way for improved, cohesive development and expedite economic growth while enhancing the standard of living.
