The Foreign Minister of Bosnia & Herzegovina Pays A Courtesy Call On The President

On Sunday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Her Excellency Dr. Bisera Turković paid a courtesy call on the President, His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The meeting took place at the President’s Office during the hours of Sunday Morning. This is the first time, a high-level diplomat from Bosnia and Herzegovina made a visit to the Maldives.

At the meeting with the Bosnian Foreign Minister, the President welcomed Dr. Turković to the Maldives and acknowledged that this was the first time a high-level dignitary from the country has made a formal visit to the Maldives. Speaking at the meeting, the Minister conveyed her good wishes to President Solih and highlighted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The President and the Minister also spoke on various topics of mutual interest. This included the prospect of enhancing cooperation in tourism, higher education and youth development as well as strengthening multilateral cooperation in the international fora. Before concluding the meeting, the President and Dr. Turković reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together for the mutual benefit of their respective countries. The Maldives first established diplomatic ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 27th, 1997.
