Celebration of 1 Year of Successful Flights Operations to Maafaru Airport By Maldivian Aero
On 1st December 2019, Maldivian Aero had commenced operations to the Maafaru International Airport for the very first time, hence, on yesterday, the airline marked the first anniversary since commencement of operations. On the occasion, they expressed their gratitude for all their staffs and their team at Island Aviation Services, whose hard world made the operations a success.
Maafaru International Airport is situated in the island of Maafaru in Noonu Atoll. The airport is valued at USD 60 million and has a capacity to accommodate A320s and Boeing 737 airplanes. It was formally inaugurated on 1st December 2019, as well. This makes Maldivian Aero the first airline to commence operation to the airport since inauguration. The airline flies from three locations to Maafaru Airport; Velana International Airport, Hanimaadhoo International Airport and Ifuru Airport.
Apart from Maldivian Aero, local airlines; FlyMe and Manta Air operates commercial flights to Maafaru Airport.
Maldivian Aero is the flag carrier of Maldives and is considered as the leading domestic carrier in the country. They are the only airline which offers both seaplane and wheel based flights in Maldives. At the moment, the airline operates daily frequent flights to all airports and offers competitive air transfers to all resorts within the country.
