Ministry of Health Inaugurates Two Health Centre Extension Buildings

The Ministry of Health has inaugurated 2 health centre extension buildings in N. Landhoo and Sh. Maroshi. The health centres were officially opened by the State Minister of the Ministry of Health, Ahmed Adil at ceremonies held to mark the occasion.

The Sh. Maroshi Health Centre extension building was inaugurated on 2nd December 2022. The ceremony was attended by senior officials of various institutions on the island, higher-ups of the Sh. Maroshi Health Centre and the employees. With a project value of MVR 3.8 Million, the extension building will increase the capacity of the health centre and help to expand the scope of service. Following the opening of the extension building, the public health unit and the administrative sections have been relocated to the new building.

The N. Landhoo Health Centre extension building was officially opened on 3rd December 2022. The Manadhoo Parliament Member, Ahmed Haroon attended the ceremony along with senior officials of the Atoll Hospital and heads of various government institutions. The construction of the extension building was contract for a project value of MVR 4.3 Million and aims to diversify the services provided by the health centre through increased capacity. As such, the administrative divisions and public health units have been relocated to the new building here as well.

Both N. Landhoo and Sh. Maroshi are small population islands, however, irrespective of that the Government of the Maldives has been conducting development projects. This aligns with the administration’s commitment to bring equitable development to all islands across the Maldives.
