On Thursday, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Malaysia, His Excellency Ali Hussain Didi presented his letter of credence to his Majesty, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah. The ceremony took place at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur during the hours of Thursday.
Following the ceremony, the High Commissioner was received in audience by His Majesty, the King. During the audience, the High Commissioner extended his best wishes to the King from the President of the Republic of the Maldives, His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and conveyed the wishes from the President for his good health and happiness as well as happiness and peace and prosperity of the Malaysian people. Moreover, he also expressed gratitude to the people and the Government of Malaysia for the unwavering support received by the Maldives from the country.
The King congratulated the High Commissioner on his appointment and reaffirmed his full support and cooperation from the Government of Malaysia during the tenure of the High Commissioner. The meeting concluded with the High Commissioner stating that both countries will continue to explore avenues to further consolidate ties between the Maldives and Malaysia.The High Commissioner was accompanied by his spouse Ms. Aishath Juman and, Deputy High Commissioner Uza.
