Registration Opens for Migrant Worker’s Cricket Carnival 2022

Mission for Migrant Workers’ Maldives (MMWM) continues its partnership with Ooredoo Maldives and Maldives Cricket board to host this year’s annual Migrant Worker’s Cricket Carnival 2022. Set to take place on the 2^nd of December 2022, the second edition of the carnival provides a platform for migrant workers to engage in sports and broaden the reach of awareness through significant reach to migrant populations. Hence, aiding in the efforts to render various necessary services.

Similar to the last carnival, MMWM will be partnering with local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) this time around and will be facilitating free medical screening and legal assistance to migrant workers throughout the carnival. The one-day event is scheduled to begin at 0800 hrs and extend till 1800 hrs with the Cricket Board of Maldives and their staff officiating the carnival.

MMWM was founded as an organization with the sole objective of advocating for the rights of migrant workers. The cricket carnival in one way serves this purpose by including the migrant community in the anniversary celebrations of the organization. In addition to this, the carnival also provides a great opportunity for MMWM to spotlight its generous partners and sponsors and acknowledge their support.

This year, MMWM hopes to bring a significant number of migrant workers and their teams to the cricket carnival much like the previous edition. The organization has now opened registrations for interested candidates through their social media platforms as well as from their hotline at +960 7384994. The deadline for registration is 29^th November 2022.
