MTCC Updates On Status of N.Velidhoo Boat Beaching Area Project

Maldives Transport and Public Relations Corporation (MTCC) has updated on the status of the Boat Beaching Area Project currently underway at the island of Velidhoo in Noonu Atoll. At a statement released by the company, it stated that the third shipment of rock boulders necessary for the project has been delivered to the project site.

The Boat Beaching Area Project includes numerous compulsory works. The scope of the project features land reclamation operations of a large area spanning 1.5 hectares, the levelling of a 138,246sqm area of the reclaimed land and the construction of a 100m breakwater and 214m revetment. The project is valued at a price of MVR 19.4 million.

As of now, MTCC states that the breakwater bed preparation works are fully finished and the breakwater profiling works are set to begin next week. The completion of the project would bring great ease to the residents of Velidhoo in terms of transportation and exchange of goods.
