MTCC updates the progress of construction projects undertaken by the Company

Today, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), has shared the progress of construction work with respect to the following projects undertaken by them via Twitter.

Design and Construction of Th. Guradhoo Harbour

The project of designing and the construction of Th. Guraidhoo harbour was awarded to the Company on 1^st October 2019 by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure. The scope of this project includes the construction of a walkway, 370m quay wall, a breakwater and installation of 18 harbor lights and 2 navigational lights.

According to the tweet from the Company, they have revealed that overall 4% if the project has only been completed so far, but, did note that 33% of the Harbor Basin Dredging has been completed and that the work is actively in progress at the moment.

Harbor Redevelopment and Coastal Protection Project of K. Dhoonidhoo

MTCC was contracted for the harbor redevelopment and coastal protection of K. Dhoonidhoo which is currently used to run the Government’s remand jail facility on 05^th September 2019. In a recent tweet, they have informed that they had mobilized the construction site on 21^st September 2020. The project entails construction of three breakwaters stretching 193 meters, 167 meters and 9.5 meters, as well as a revetment stretching 620 meters and a quay wall stretching 250 meters.
