NCA Inaugurates Art Display Space At Noovilu Seaplane Terminal at VIA

On Monday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited the newly-established artwork display space set-up at Noovilu Seaplane Terminal in Velana International Airport (VIA). The display space was set up by the National Centre for the Arts (NCA) in the hopes of establishing a dedicated platform for local talents to showcase their art pieces all year long.

The artworks currently exhibited at Noovilu greatly align with the administration’s initiative to provide rising artists a floor to present their talents and skills to local and international audiences. As of now, 20 artworks selected from the permanent collection of the National Art Gallery are displayed at the terminal. In addition to supporting local artists, the platform also gives local musicians a chance to depict their abilities as well.

While the President was touring the set-up, he met with the Maldivian art community and inquired them about their work. On the occasion of the inauguration, NCA stated that the space will be open for artists throughout the peak season.
