The President Confers Two Noteworthy Awards At Republic Day Ceremony

 On Friday night, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred the President’s Award for Special Achievement and the Special Medal for Memorizing the Noble Quran to 65 recipients. The awards were presented at the Republic Day ceremony held in Dharubaaruge last night.

This year’s recipients constituted 13 individuals who memorized the Noble Quran at the highest level, 9 individuals for their accomplishments in completing an MQA Level 10 qualification and publishing their research in an international journal and 41 individuals for their achievements in attaining an MQA Level 7,8 or 9 qualification.

In addition to this, one of the awardees who received the award was distinguished for his skill, creativity and innovation that helped contribute towards national development. This award can be applied by youths who yielded exceptional outcomes by utilizing their skills and talents. This individual was Mr. Mohamed Akram who received the National Award for Special Achievement.

The ceremony also honoured an organization that had immensely contributed to the human resource development of the Maldives’ tourism sector. The President included the award among the President’s Special Awards to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism in the Maldives. This organization was Capital Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd which received the National Award for Special Achievement.
