Maldives Pension Administration Office Appoints New CEO- Sujatha Haleem

As stipulated by the Maldives Pension Act, the Board of the Pension Office has appointed Ms. Sujatha Haleem as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will be serving in the position for a period of 5 years, effective from 31st October 2022.

Ms. Sujatha Haleem has been carrying out the responsibilities of Acting CEO at the Pension Office for over two years. During that time, she has concurrently served as the Chief Operating Officer, a role she has been diligently fulfilling since 2015 onwards.

Moreover, Ms. Sujatha has been an active member in introducing a modernized and sustainable pension scheme in the Maldives. She has continuously remained at the frontlines of the efforts for 16 years and her commitment can be seen in her immense contributions to establishing a pension scheme in the Maldives.

This includes leading the ‘Pension and Social Protection Administration’ project in Maldives organized by the World Bank and playing an integral role in developing the Maldives Pension Act and its implementation process. Upon her appointment, the Pension Office stated that they aspire to conduct successful works under her leadership and take the office to new limits during her tenure.
