The High Commissioner Of Pakistan Pays A Farewell Visit To The President

Yesterday, the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency, Vice Admiral Ather Mukhtar (Retd) paid a farewell visit to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The visit took place at the President’s Office on Monday, 31st October 2022.

During the meeting, the President praised the High Commissioner for his sincere work and commitment to enhancing bilateral ties between the Maldives and Pakistan. As such, the President and High Commissioner reflected on the dynamics of the bilateral relations between the two countries and acknowledged the growth of collaboration. Together, they highlighted the strengthened people-to-people ties and the mutual collaborations in various sectors such as health, economics and tourism. In this regard, they exchanged dialogues to further improve trade and tourism collaboration efforts in the future.

At the meeting, the President also inquired about the post-recovery efforts of the recent flood in Pakistan. On this topic, the High Commissioner updated the President on the latest developments and expressed his gratitude to the Government of Maldives and the people for the sentiment and assistance provided on the matter.

The visit concluded with both the President and High Commissioner expressing confidence and hope to explore avenues and further consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries in the coming years.
