MTCC Shares Updates On Progress of HA. Dhidhoo Harbour Extension & Jetty Construction Project

Maldives Transport & Contracting Company (MTCC) has shared some updates on the progress of the harbour extension and jetty construction project in the island of Dhidhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll. The company stated that 50% of the project is completed with the first shipment of rock boulders already delivered to the island and quay wall construction completed.

With a project value of MVR 74.8 Million, the HA. Dhidhoo harbour extension and jetty construction project extends to many essential areas. The scope of the project includes dredging and excavation operations of a 78,000cbm area and the construction of a 616m breakwater. Moreover, establishment of a 326m quay wall, 185m revetment and the development of a 58m Groynes are also featured as part of the project.

In addition to this, MTCC will also be constructing a 4320sqm harbour pavement for use with 2 designated concrete platforms. They will also be facilitating the supply and installation of harbour lights in HA. Dhidhoo. At the moment, quay wall concrete works and harbor basin dredging operations are underway at the island.
