High Commissioner of Maldives To Singapore Presents His Credentials To President of Singapore

Yesterday, the newly appointed High Commissioner from the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali presented his credentials to the President of Singapore, Her Excellency Madam Halimah Yacob. Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen presented his letter of credence to the president during yesterday morning at an official ceremony held at the Office of the President of the Republic of Singapore, Istana.

After the High Commissioner presented his credentials the President, Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen and the Madam Halimah Yacob exchanged greetings and well wishes on the occasion and focused on the close bilateral relations between the two countries. During the meeting, the High Commissioner relayed greetings and good wishes from the President of the Maldives, His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the Maldivian people to the Singaporean President Halimah Yacob and the people of Singapore.

The High Commissioner also expressed his thanks to the President for accepting his credentials and reaffirmed his commitment and support to further strengthen the long-standing diplomatic ties between the two countries. He remarked that during his tenure, the friendly relationship between Maldives and Singapore will reach new heights.

The High Commissioner was accompanied during the visit by his spouse, Madam Visam Ali and the Second Secretary at the High Commission of Maldives in Singapore, Ms. Aishath Jumana. Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali was appointed as High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on 25th August 2022.
